About the role

As a Procurement Specialist, you'll work with the At Home Aged Care team to support procurement activities, ensuring adequate process, governance, and value-for-money is achieved.  

The position will concentrate on fostering positive stakeholder engagement while also aiming to achieve innovative procurement results, cost savings, efficiencies, and ensuring reliable support and supply.

Contributing to the delivery of goods and/or services to customers through the provision of effective and efficient procurement strategies, you will actively monitor contract management to ensure that arrangements are delivering the maximum possible benefit to VMCH.

Key accountabilities

  • Strategically partner with At Home Aged Care in the procurement of goods and services.
  • Develop a supplier and contract register, as well as preferred supplier lists.
  • Conduct market research and undertake due diligence assessment for contract management, including establishment and maintenance of Key Performance Indicators.
  • Regularly conduct spend analysis to establish potential cost saving initiatives, areas for efficiency gains or recommendations for tendering activity.
  • Contribute to the development of the new procurement reporting process and thereafter take a lead role in maintaining information to ensure it remains up to date.
  • Manage general procurement and contracts administration.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across the organisation, particularly within At Home Aged Care.
  • Effectively communicate with staff at all levels of the organisation to enable timely achievement of agreed outcomes.
  • Provide regular procurement support, reports, and recommendations to the service line managers and teams.
  • Manage time effectively; including prioritising daily tasks according to workflow and working flexibly to take account of stakeholder needs and to meet all deadlines.
  • Protect sensitive information and privacy of both colleagues and clients.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in Home Care, disability, or aged care sectors will be an advantage
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement and purchasing
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
  • Established experience in customer focus and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High level attention to detail, communication, and analytical skills
