(Level B) $111,031 - $131,335 per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 17% superannuation.

(Level C) $135,388 to $155,696 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation.

Full-time, fixed term position available immediately for a period of 12 months

JBI, situated within the School of Public Health, is an international research organisation that develops and delivers unique evidence-based information, software, education and training designed to improve healthcare practice and health outcomes.  JBI has a mission focused, positive workplace culture that supports and develops staff skills and knowledge in evidence-based healthcare.

The successful candidate will contribute to synthesis research methodology programs and will be involved in methodological developmental work and contribution to the development of tools and software to assist in the conduct of systematic reviews.  The candidate will also contribute to/lead the development and update of teaching materials and delivery of JBI training programs and workshops on the conduct of systematic reviews and other types of evidence synthesis (both face to face and remote).  This role includes assessment of course participants and may include supervision of higher degree research students.  The successful applicant will join and help support the JBI international trainers’ network and some national and international travel may be required.

To be successful you will need:

  • PhD in the discipline or have equivalent qualifications or research experience.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in research in evidence synthesis methodology and research methods and experience in conducting systematic reviews
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in teaching evidence-based healthcare, systematic reviews and/or research methods
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the conduct of lectures demonstrations and workshops (face to face and online)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively consult, mentor or supervise students
  • Evidence to develop course material with appropriate guidance from the program coordinator
  • Proven ability to perform administrative functions primarily connected with the area of research.
  • Demonstrated experience to conduct independent high-quality research, including leading research, where applicable
  • Strong track record of high-quality publications, reports or conference presentations relative to opportunity.
  • Ability to mark and assess effectively and to provide support to students by delivering appropriate feedback
  • Demonstrated ability to guide and oversee postgraduate and honours students in the research area and supervise research support staff.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate across disciplines and collaborate with external stakeholders within government, non-government and/or community.
