Postdoc opportunity

A Senior Post Doctoral Researcher opportunity to work closely with its industry partner Carina Biotech on the emergence of cancer immunotherapy designed to engineer the patients’ own immune cells to recognise and attack their tumours. The successful candidate will assist with an ongoing clinical trial of a CAR-T cell product and conduct cutting-edge research to advance the hypothesis that forcing expression of receptors in CAR-T cells that bind to chemokines that are expressed by solid tumours to enhance migration of the cells into tumours and lead to improved tumour killing.

To be successful you will need:

  1. A PhD in immunology and cancer biology, specifically in CAR-T cell therapy and chemokine biology.
  2. Demonstrated research excellence in T cell biology and mouse models of human cancer, including study design, data management, analysis and interpretation of results.
  3. Track record of high-quality publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
  4. Experience in the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

  5. An understanding of the expectations of performing research in a commercial setting and knowledge of the processes involved in conducting clinical trials.
  6. Proven ability to perform administrative functions primarily connected with the area of research including project management experience.
