The Senior Test Automation Specialist will report to the Quality Engineering Lead and will provide test automation leadership and education that enables WorkCover QLD (WCQ) to deliver to their corporate strategy.   

About the Role 

  • Lead and advocate for modern test automation practices across the organisation. 

  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks, standards, and governance for varied tech stacks. 

  • Partner with development, platform, and DevOps teams to enable continuous testing and faster software delivery. 

  • Champion quality engineering practices, CI/CD integration, and scalable test solutions. 

  • Mentor and guide teams on implementing functional and non-functional testing, including performance and security. 

A bit about you: 

To express your interest, please submit your resume and a one-page response to the following criteria: 

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (desirable). 

  • ISTQB certification or equivalent (desirable). 

  • Proven expertise in test automation frameworks (Playwright and Karate API essential) 

  • Solid experience with agile, DevOps, and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, AWS). 

  • Strong programming or scripting skills (Java, JavaScript/Typescript). 

  • Knowledge of test management tools (e.g., JIRA Xray), API testing, microservices, and cloud platforms.
