As Head of Digital and Enterprise Applications, you will set the vision and lead the evolution of WorkCover’s digital platforms and corporate applications, transforming a complex mix of legacy and contemporary systems into a modern, integrated, and resilient ecosystem. This is a high-impact leadership role at the centre of our enterprise transformation, with a mandate to modernise technology, unlock data and insights, and deliver frictionless, secure, and connected experiences for both customers and employees.

This role demands more than technology delivery, it requires a strategic enabling leader who can connect the dots across the business, influence at the highest levels, and bring clarity and momentum to a diverse portfolio of initiatives. You will work with leaders across all business areas to identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and improved customer engagement, ensuring every platform and application contributes to measurable business outcomes.

You’ll lead an existing team and a technology landscape with significant opportunities for consolidation, optimisation, and innovation.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead the development and delivery of an enterprise applications roadmap aligned to WorkCover’s business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of applications, including digital experience platforms, mobile apps, portals, correspondence, workflow, HR, Finance, Risk, and integration systems.
  • Modernise legacy systems, optimising performance, security, and user experience.
  • Manage vendor and third-party partnerships to ensure platforms are scalable, reliable, and resilient.
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of technology projects, ensuring they meet time, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Act as a bridge between IT, business units, and external partners to drive alignment and transparency.

A bit about you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in technology, business management or a related discipline
  • 10+ years’ experience in application development or support, with at least 5 years in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Proven strategic and people leadership in digital transformation and enterprise application management.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale, complex technology programs that drive measurable business value, with the capability to replicate this success in our dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of technology and project management frameworks and methodologies (e.g. ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF, Prince2, Agile, Scrum, SaFE).
  • Deep understanding of insurance operations, customer journeys, and the regulatory landscape and proven capabilities in enabling strategic alignment between technology and business priorities
  • Advanced expertise in cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, enterprise architecture, UX/UI, data analytics, and automation technologies.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement, influencing, and communication skills, with proven experience managing diverse senior stakeholders and driving alignment across complex organisations.
  • Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-impact, technology-enabled business outcomes.
