We are looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer to join our team and drive the streamlining of our software development lifecycle. Through this you will help improve productivity, delivery speed and code quality of our engineering teams enabling delivery of quality business outcomes.  

You'll contribute to: 

  • Process Optimisation Excellence: Eliminate manual catalog updates and streamline release processes through innovative automation solutions that directly support our mission of keeping Queenslanders working 
  • Seamless Tool Integration: Design and implement connections between GitHub, JIRA, and other development tools to create efficient, unified workflows that enhance our service delivery to Queensland workers and employers 
  • Platform Engineering Leadership: Build self-service capabilities that empower development teams while maintaining the operational stability essential for our worker's compensation services 
  • Automation and Security Integration: Create reliable, repeatable processes that reduce human error and implement DevSecOps practices to ensure the security and integrity of our systems 

A bit about you: 

  • Technical Leadership Experience: 8+ years in enterprise cloud environments with a proven track record of technical leadership, mentoring teams, and driving cultural transformation between development and operations 
  • Cloud-Native Expertise: Deep AWS knowledge with hands-on Kubernetes orchestration experience, combined with Infrastructure as Code proficiency using CDK, CloudFormation, and Ansible 
  • Pipeline Architecture Skills: Expert-level ability to design and implement CI/CD workflows, with polyglot engineering capabilities across Java/Spring ecosystems, TypeScript, and shell scripting 
  • Collaborative Innovation Mindset: Natural teacher and change agent who breaks down silos, fosters cross-functional collaboration, and balances immediate technical needs with long-term architectural vision
