Work type: Fixed Term - Full Time

WorkCover Queensland is entering an exciting new chapter, guided by a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership shaping our 2030 Strategy. We’re embarking on an enterprise-wide transformation to strengthen our impact and continue making a positive difference in people’s lives.

The Opportunity

This is a hands‑on Product Designer role where you’ll see your work move from idea to implementation and into the hands of real users.

You’ll be embedded in a delivery squad, working in agile ways of working to design and improve digital products that matter. From running usability testing and benchmarking designs, to shaping change through Ignition workshops that bring product, tech and business together, you’ll help uncover needs, explore opportunities and design confident, accessible solutions.

You’ll be involved end‑to‑end: testing assumptions, iterating based on feedback, partnering closely with developers to understand how designs are built, and refining work through design team huddles and 1:1s. Your work will directly influence customer experiences and outcomes through continuous improvement initiatives (Minor Works program) that have meaningful impact.

This is a role for someone who wants to grow their product design craft in a supportive, delivery‑focused environment.

About You

You’re Product Designer who’s confident in your design thinking, curious about how things work, and comfortable backing your decisions with evidence.

You bring:

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Product Designer working within an agile delivery environment
  • A strong foundation in UI/UX and product design, supported by a relevant qualification or equivalent practical experience
  • Demonstrated experience designing and prototyping in Figma
  • Ability to plan and conduct usability testing, synthesise the insights and share back to stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with developers, with an understanding of technical constraints and build considerations
  • Sound knowledge of usability, accessibility and inclusive design principles, with experience applying these in practice
  • Experience working within cross‑functional delivery squads, contributing to agile ceremonies and continuous improvement
  • A commitment to continuous learning, with an openness to feedback and a willingness to iterate and improve design outcomes
  • A collaborative approach, valuing design as a team practice, receiving feedback and contributing positively to a respectful, inclusive workplace culture
