The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Fraud, this is a key role within our Risk division, responsible for the intake, triage and preliminary assessment of fraud notifications, regulatory offence matters and public interest disclosures.
As a Fraud Triage Coordinator, you will play a critical role in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, ensuring matters are assessed accurately against relevant multiple legislation, policies and prioritisation frameworks—supporting timely allocation for investigation, regulatory referral or appropriate resolution.
In this role, you will:
- Receive and record fraud notifications, regulatory offence referrals and disclosures from internal and external sources
- Undertake risk-based assessments and triage matters, applying relevant legislation, policies and procedures to determine the appropriate pathway to action
- Allocate matters to investigators based on prioritisation and risk
- Maintain accurate records in line with recordkeeping, privacy and compliance requirements
- Escalate high-risk matters to the Senior Fraud Investigator or Manager
- Monitor intake workflows to ensure timely processing and adherence to key performance indicators
- Support reporting activities, including monitoring caseloads, data integrity and performance metrics
- Support compliance with regulatory reporting requirements, including file releases, evidence handling and documentation
- Assist with evidence gathering to support investigations
- Liaise with complainants, investigators, internal stakeholders and external agencies
- Manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Deliver professional and timely customer service, while consistently demonstrating WorkCover values and adhering to policies and procedures
About You
You are a solution-focused, agile and highly organised professional with experience in triage, intake or assessment within a regulatory, compliance or investigative environment. You are confident working in a high-volume setting with multiple points of contact, applying sound judgement to assess risk and determine appropriate pathways and allocation.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in intake, triage or assessment of notifications, ideally in complex or sensitive environment
- Background in fraud, compliance, regulatory or investigative environments ideally government, insurance of financial services
- Strong judgement and confidence interpreting and applying multiple pieces of legislation, using a risk-based approach to decision-making
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and high volume workflows
- A high level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate diplomatically and work collaboratively across internal and external stakeholders
- The ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion
- Experience within workers’ compensation, insurance or health services will be highly regarded
