WorkCover Queensland is entering an exciting new chapter, guided by a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership shaping our 2030 Strategy. We’re embarking on an enterprise-wide transformation to strengthen our impact and continue making a positive difference in people’s lives.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Senior Risk Systems Specialist to play a critical role in shaping the future of risk management at WorkCover Queensland. As a specialist within our transforming Risk function, you'll lead the ongoing evolution of WorkCover's Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) platform while helping deliver our future enterprise risk system. Working at the intersection of risk, technology and business outcomes, you'll influence how risk information is captured, managed and reported across the organisation.

Partnering with stakeholders across Risk, Technology, vendors and the broader business, you'll translate risk and governance requirements into practical system solutions, improve risk data quality, enhance reporting and insights, and drive user adoption and continuous improvement. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to a major enterprise initiative from procurement and design through to implementation, optimisation and long-term maturity of the platform.

This is an opportunity to combine risk expertise, business analysis and system leadership in a role that directly supports WorkCover's risk maturity uplift and 2030 strategic objectives.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong risk management knowledge with a passion for systems, data and continuous improvement.

You may have built your career in Line 2 Risk and expanded into GRC systems, reporting and governance, or developed deep enterprise systems expertise and gained experience within risk, compliance or governance environments. Either way, you're comfortable translating business requirements into practical workflows, system functionality, reporting solutions and meaningful business outcomes.

You'll bring hands-on experience implementing, configuring, administering, enhancing and optimising GRC platforms or similar enterprise systems, along with strong stakeholder engagement, analytical and problem-solving skills. You're comfortable translating business requirements into practical system configurations, workflows, controls and reporting solutions, while working across business, technology and vendor teams to deliver improvements and drive meaningful outcomes.

You'll be resilient and adaptable, able to navigate changing priorities, evolving requirements and organisational transformation while maintaining a focus on outcomes. Experience supporting system implementation, governance, data quality, testing, user adoption, access management and continuous improvement initiatives will be highly regarded.
