JOB PURPOSE 

The Media Planning & Performance Manager is responsible for the media planning, the performance of media and internal client services relating to media for Alshaya brands within their portfolio. 

Reporting to the Head Of Media Planning & Performance and in close collaboration with Marketing & eCommerce colleagues, internal brand partners, and external agency and media partners, they will lead the development of media capability and media plans, manage media budget and ROI, drive media innovation and effectiveness, to deliver customer, campaign and commercial objectives. 

They play a crucial role within marketing at Alshaya working as a special point of contact on behalf of and representing Central Marketing and to support Alshaya brand teams as internal clients. Working with brand partners they will have joint accountability for budget management and media performance. They will develop close working relationships with all teams to improve the overall effectiveness of marketing and the profitability of their brands.  

Working across all teams they will employ and help to evolve the omni-channel operating model, to leverage full-funnel marketing to improve footfall, sessions and sales for stores and eCommerce at the best omni-channel ROI. 

Key Skills 

  • At least 5 years in marketing and media planning (client side or agency) with media budget responsibilities in excess of 5m KWD. 

  • Strong understanding of how to plan, manage and leverage marketing channels individually and as part of a marketing mix to deliver a combination of brand and performance objectives at scale. 

  • At least 5 years in marketing and media planning (client side or agency) with media budget responsibilities in excess of 5m KWD. 

  • Experience working with retail brands in a fast-paced commercial environment. 

  • Experience managing multiple internal and external stakeholder relationships. 

  • Strong practical understanding of how to use external and internal insight and tools to build full-funnel and omni-channel media plans 

  • Good understanding and experience using different types of media across Paid, Earned, Managed and Owned as part of full-funnel and omni-channel media plans. 

  • Good technical understanding and experience of using digital marketing platforms and tools such as Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, DSPs and other channels to drive marketing performance (upper and lower funnel). 

  • Good understanding and experience of CRM, loyalty, customer retention and customer lifetime value.  

  • Expertise with enterprise web analytical and data tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Adjust, Firebase, Magento etc.) 

  • Analytical and numbers driven, able to make fact-based recommendations from complex data and turn insight into action. 

  • Excellent understanding of all KPIs controlling marketing performance (upper and lower funnel) 

  • Strong commercial acumen and awareness of how to affect profit from any given activity. 

  • Ability to react to change and make smart, fast decisions. 

  • Ability to build relationships and to influence across teams and career levels. 

  • Exemplary communication skills, both written and spoken. 

  • Outstanding presentation skills and the ability to show complex issues in an engaging way. 

  • Confident self-starter and organised project manager with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and stay calm under pressure. 

  • Strong team player with ability to work effectively across matrix management structures. 

  • Works with a customer first focus. 

Preferred Skills 

  • Relevant degree or professional qualification. 

  • Fashion, home furnishing and beauty experience. 

  • Experience of MENA markets.
