Account Manager

TOMRA Cleanaway is proud to have been appointed as the Network Operator for the incoming Tasmanian Container Refund Scheme, ‘Recycle Rewards’ commencing Mid 2025. Operating across Tasmania, at the heart of what we do is developing meaningful, local partnerships that generate active community participation in container deposit schemes. This is achieved by deploying a network that is focused on consumer convenience and accessibility and leverages existing behaviours, making it easy for the community.

Your new role

The purpose of the position is to develop and increase the demand and market awareness of the Container Refund Scheme. Concurrently, this role is responsible for the engagement of new business opportunities within the designated territory in Tasmania. You will need to build and foster relationships with State Government, community groups, local government and major industry bodies in addition to further enhancing existing relationships with local retailers, businesses and property owners. This role requires extensive engagement and stakeholder management to ensure a successful transfer from contracts being signed, to installation and operations. In addition to generating new site locations, you will provide technical support, advice and planning throughout your assigned territory. Your main duties will include:

  • Identify and secure new return point partners as required
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships across the return point network
  • Ensure completion of scheduled site inspections along with associated audit requirements and documentation.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct, personal presentation and company image

What you'll need to succeed

  • Valid driver's licence
  • Proficiency in sales, account management and business development
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Experience in retail is highly desirable
  • Ability to handle customer complaints effectively
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of Container Deposit Schemes or other similar product stewardship programs is desirable
  • Experience in account management and business development within a commercial business
