Recycling Operator (LF) - Rooty Hill

  • $32/hr + Super
  • Day shifts starting in between 4am and 6am
  • Full time, Permanent position – Rooty Hill based

The Opportunity 

As a Recycling Operator, based at our newly built Rooty Hill materials recycling facility, you will play a vital role in our daily operations, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently while adhering to the highest standards of safety and quality.

While you will operate a forklift as needed, please note that a significant portion of the role involves manual labour and hands-on work throughout the facility. If you have a background in the waste industry or experience in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you!

  • Operate and maintain recycling equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Use a forklift when required to assist with the movement of materials, though the bulk of the role will involve labouring tasks.
  • Monitor the flow of materials to ensure optimal processing.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure functionality.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues as they arise.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to production and safety.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance processes and improve efficiency.

About You 

You have a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety, with a willingness to take on physical tasks. Your ability to work well in a team and adapt to a dynamic environment will be key to your success in this role.

  • Experience in a recycling or waste management facility is preferred, but not required.
  • Forklift license is essential, as you will operate a forklift when needed.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to environmental regulations.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to take a Pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol test
