The Opportunity
As a Credit Risk Management Officer, you’ll have the chance to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll be responsible for protecting the company’s revenue by proactively maintaining an effective and balanced credit risk framework. Responsibilities will include:
- Work closely with external collection agency on managing the mercantile portfolio, conduct reviews of accounts determine the best course of action for recovery
- Primary contact for insolvency matters, handle communications with external and internal parties, and administrative tasks related to accounts under voluntary administration, liquidation and bankruptcy
- Assess accounts for potential legal recovery action
- Review credit risk alerts from credit bureaus and other sources
- Compile reports relating to doubtful and bad debt
- Carry out credit risk assessments and provide approvals for higher value customer onboarding
About You
- Experience in working with external collection agencies and/or previously in an insolvency related role
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate with different stakeholders, both internal and external
- A team player that has the ability to work well independently
- Hold solid commercial acumen and sound decision-making skills
- Knowledge of credit bureau suppliers and industry data
- Intermediate Excel skills, ability to work with large datasets
- Tertiary degree qualified in accounting or finance preferred
