Business Development Manager (Recycling)

The Opportunity

In this key role, you will lead growth in FOGO (Food Organics & Garden Organics) and MRF (Materials Recovery Facility) services, securing new business and increasing volume. This role is essential to expanding our footprint within the local government, leveraging strong industry relationships to secure partnerships. Engaging with key stakeholders, you will identify opportunities to grow market share, expanding our impact and enhancing recovery solutions for communities.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Identify and target potential clients by leveraging your network and market research.
  • Develop and implement strategies to generate leads and convert them into sales opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients, understanding their needs and presenting tailored solutions.
  • Conduct persuasive sales presentations and demonstrations, showcasing the value and benefits of our services.
  • Negotiate contracts ensuring favorable terms and alignment with company goals.
  • Provide regular sales reports, tracking progress against targets and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

About You

  • Solid prior experience in a high activity B2B sales role within environmental services or waste management.
  • Established network with local government entities is desirable.
  • Proven "hunter" mentality with a track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and securing new business.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to find solutions and be decisive.
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with all stakeholders.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can effectively prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and you’re driven to achieve your set targets.
  • Tech savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office, and experience with a Sales CRM is desirable.
