The Opportunity
As the Network Engineer, you’ll have the chance to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will be accountable for the design, implementation and support of the IT Network including, Datacentres, WAN, Campus and Cloud. This role will provide technical expertise and support to the ICT Operations team to ensure effective delivery of network and communications whilst working with the business and architecture teams to define and implement relevant elements of the ICT systems. Responsibilities will include:
- Promote technical standards and ensure adherence for development and company operations
- Identify and document opportunities for improvement in the network, network applications and other technical systems used by the company
- Collaborate with the Network Architect for new Network solutions and Designs while implementing them through Change Control standards as per the ITIL Framework
- Work with the Cyber Security team to mitigate Network vulnerabilities and manage risk
- Proactive management of cyber security risks and implementation of preventative measures
- Provide input and contribute to effective change, problem management, capacity planning, incident management, risk management and continuity planning
About You
You will be an experienced Network Engineer who has worked with large organisation. Experience will also include:
- Experience in administrating, managing, designing and implementing Network solutions involving Cisco Catalyst Switches, Cisco ISR Routers, Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco NDFC Datacentre Fabric, Cisco Identity Services Engine and Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complicated network issues, incorporating different technologies, end to end
- Tuning and monitoring network performance and advising on operation improvements
- The ability to formally document Network solutions and designs so they can be understood for technical and non-technical audiences alike
- Professional qualifications in engineering or computer science · Industry certifications in Cisco and Palo Alto or equivalent knowledge. eg. CCNP, CCIE and PSNSE highly desirable
