The Opportunity
Based at our Silverwater site, we are seeking an experienced Plant Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. Our Silverwater site processes waste from medical, veterinarian and health care facilities across the east coast. Our industrial equipment on site includes an autoclave, air pollution control systems, incinerator as well as various shredders and conveyers. Our site operates twenty-four hours per day and our on-site maintenance team of 6 are available on every shift.
You will be responsible for planning, designing, organizing, and overseeing the maintenance of mechanical & electrical systems and process installations at our Silverwater medical waste management facility. This includes preventative and corrective maintenance, ensuring resource availability, and collaborating on projects to enhance operational efficiency and introduce new processes as required to maintain safety and efficiency on site.
About You
Our ideal candidate has worked with similar industrial equipment and has experience managing a similar sized team with great results. You are trade qualified (Fitter, Electrician, Engineer), practical and don’t mind getting your hands dirty and applying your skills on the tools. You have a strong safety mindset, are competent using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and are confident with risk assessment and management processes. You will have experience in:
- Developing and implementing preventative and corrective maintenance schedules
- Diagnosis and resolution of mechanical and operational issues to maintain uptime
- Leading and coordinating internal and external stakeholders (including contractors)
- Designing and implementing project schedules (including budgets, timeframes, equipment, integrations)
- Ensuring all activities comply with health, safety and environmental regulations specific to medical waste handling and disposal
- Generating and interpreting detailed reports on equipment performance, maintenance costs, downtime and optimisation suggestions
