About the Role

Are you ready to take on a transformative challenge? We’re looking for a Procurement Manager (often referred to as a Category Manager) to spearhead the evolution of our Fleet Repair & Maintenance (R&M) category. With an annual spend of ~$140M across 1,400+ suppliers, this is a pivotal role that requires strategic thinking, exceptional stakeholder management, and the ability to deliver measurable results.

In this role, you will take ownership of our Fleet R&M category, developing and delivering a multi-year strategy to bring this category into a governed and optimised state. This includes designing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, collaborating with operational and executive stakeholders, and negotiating contracts to align with our business goals. You’ll contribute to mentoring junior Procurement team members and will play a key role in shaping the future of Fleet R&M procurement at Cleanaway.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Strategic Development: Refine and execute the Fleet R&M strategy to deliver cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Category Management: Oversee sourcing, contracting, and supplier management to ensure accountability and value.
  • Collaboration: Build strong relationships with stakeholders across operational and executive levels.
  • Governance and Delivery: Bring structure to the category through effective procurement practices.
  • Ownership and Delivery: Take ownership of our R&M strategy, driving a multi-year project to optimise the category through strategic procurement, supplier management, and collaboration with key stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong Thinker: A structured, analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Relevant Experience: Background in Fleet R&M or logistics categories is highly desirable. Alternatively, experience in an industrials business with non-Fleet categories will also be considered.
  • Procurement Expertise: Proven ability to develop and execute procurement strategies and manage large, complex supplier portfolios.
  • Collaborative Approach: Skilled in building rapport with stakeholders and suppliers alike.
  • Bonus Points: Ex-consultants with experience in similar roles have excelled here.
