The Opportunity:
We seek a collaborative and forward-thinking Operations Manager to lead the Fraser Coast Alliance. In this role, you will drive alignment with the Alliance Charter's objectives and lead the way in operational innovation, sustainability, and excellence.
Reporting to the Alliance Leadership Board (ALB), you will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance, safety, and outstanding customer service across all Council-operated facilities within the Alliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead with Purpose: Build a culture of safety, compliance, and customer service, inspiring your team to achieve shared goals.
- Ensure Operational Excellence: Oversee the management of sites, equipment, and activities, ensuring operations run efficiently and align with financial and governance requirements.
- Focus on Sustainability: Advance waste and resource recovery strategies, driving forward innovative, sustainable solutions.
- Foster Team Growth: Develop and manage a skilled, high-performing team that delivers on Alliance objectives.
- Drive Innovation: Identify opportunities to improve processes and resource recovery initiatives to deliver impactful results.
- Maintain Financial Accountability: Manage budgets effectively and ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.
About You
You are a collaborative leader with a track record of managing diverse teams and delivering sustainable results. You bring:
- Leadership Experience: At least five years of experience in senior roles, managing multi-disciplinary teams (including professional and operational staff) within council or related environments.
- Effective Communication Skills: Confidence in influencing, negotiating, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Financial Acumen: Experience in managing budgets and monitoring financial performance across multiple facilities.
- Knowledge of Waste Operations: An understanding of waste management or resource recovery operations is highly regarded but not essential.
