The Role

Are you passionate about supporting and guiding people as they embark on their professional journeys? We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic mentor to play a pivotal role in shaping the careers of the next generation. This role is designed to provide hands-on mentorship and guidance to participants in our Apprentice Program, Driver Academy Program, and other employment pathways initiatives.

You will have the unique opportunity to build strong relationships across various stakeholders, including Cleanaway sites, apprentices, and key organizations like the Department of Education, Skills, and Employment, to ensure the success of our mentoring services. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of employees within a local region, including apprentices, trainees, and people with disabilities, providing tailored support to help them succeed.
  • Collaborate closely with Cleanaway sites, apprentices, and, where applicable, their parents or guardians, ensuring open communication and progress tracking.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify any potential barriers, and develop comprehensive case management plans to overcome these challenges.
  • Leverage local, state, and national resources to provide additional support, ensuring barriers to program completion are addressed effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, maintaining program integrity and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, including in-training information and detailed file notes, to track individual progress and outcomes.
  • Prepare and submit regular status reports and statistical data to track progress and measure success.
  • Foster strong relationships both internally with your team and externally with key stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and continuous support.
  • Provide coaching and training, empowering individuals to reach their full potential and successfully complete their training programs.

 

 

About You

You have a proven ability to engage, support, and inspire those from diverse backgrounds, with a particular passion for helping individuals succeed. Ideally you will have experience from a mentoring or guidance role, where you’ve managed high volumes of cases and have a strong foundation in administration.

Key qualities include:

  • Ability to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, including apprentices, internal teams, job providers, and Registered Training Organizations (RTOs).
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify practical solutions and provide proactive support, such as referrals to specialist organizations (e.g., housing support, mental health services).
  • Strong communication and administration skills, ensuring clear, efficient interactions and well-organized case management.
  • Proven ability to meet targets and KPIs, with a track record of delivering excellent customer service and achieving program goals.
  • Relevant qualifications in youth or social work (e.g., Certificate IV in Community Services – Youth Work) or progress towards these credentials would be highly regarded.

 

Please note that you may need to travel locally and interstate and holding a drivers licence will be required for this role. You will also be required to have, or obtain, a working with childrens checks
