The Opportunity

We are seeking a commercially savvy, emotionally intelligent Major Account Manager to join our Health Services business unit, based in Victoria. This strategic, senior-level role will see you manage one of our most important clients, with a focus on establishing a deep understanding of their operations, identifying opportunities for service improvement, and delivering measurable business outcomes.
This is not just account management – it’s a partnership. You will bring a forward-thinking, data-driven mindset and the ability to influence, communicate, and lead with confidence across a broad stakeholder network. Travel across Victoria is required, though interstate travel is not.
Guided by our Values, your responsibilities will include:
- Deepen your understanding of the client’s business to proactively identify opportunities to diversify our service offerings and add value across multiple business lines.
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with a key major account, ensuring Cleanaway delivers consistent, high-quality service.
- Collaborate across multiple internal teams to support and improve contract performance, customer outcomes, compliance, and shared success.
- Implement retention and growth strategies, including re-tenders, repricing, and contract negotiation
- Provide high-level reporting, presentations, and insights to internal and external stakeholders
- Identify strategic opportunities to align Cleanaway Health Service with customer sustainability and innovation goals.
About You
You are a natural relationship builder and a commercial thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment, bringing a future-focused mindset. You’ll have:
- A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Account Management, Business Development or a strategic customer-facing role.
- Demonstrated experience managing high-value, complex accounts (preferably national or state-based contracts).
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to engage a wide range of stakeholders and influence outcomes.
- Confidence in preparing and delivering tenders, commercial documentation, business cases, and strategic reports.
- A deep understanding of business operations and the ability to leverage data and commercial tools to deliver measurable outcomes.
- Experience in or exposure to the healthcare, logistics, waste or environmental services sectors is highly regarded.
