The Role
We’re looking for an Oil Collections driver based in the Newcastle region, within our Hydrocarbons division to drive our fully equipped, fully maintained oil collection vehicles and collect and deliver used lube oil. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who strive to deliver excellent customer service, have strong communication skills, and can deliver to a wide geographical area of our established customers.
You will be required to operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with company regulations, complete all paperwork and records accurately. Candidate to have a clean driving record, be comfortable performing manual handling and heavy lifting and willing to take a Pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol test.

As part of closing the gender gap of drivers in the waste management industry, Cleanaway is running a Driver Academy for Women to address substantive equality for female identifying or non-binary persons in the industry by removing some of the barriers preventing them from getting involved. Cleanaway is seeking an individual to participate in an intensive training program which includes licencing and other training required to set you up to be a HR licenced truck driver, followed by ongoing learning for the next 12 months.
Paid 5-week training program will include:
- Obtain Heavy Vehicle Licence (HR Open- manual)
- Dangerous goods licence & EPA certification if required
- Uniforms and PPE
- Training program to become a driver
To be part of the program
- Hold a current unrestricted driver’s licence for a minimum of 24 months
- Clean Driving History with a minimum of 8 demerit points remaining
- No heavy vehicle driving experience required
