Commercial Business Partner – Logistics & Transport Focus
Melbourne | Permanent Full-Time

With over 400 trucks operating across multiple depots in Melbourne, this high-performing logistics and transport operation is fast-paced, complex, and essential to keeping things moving. We’re on the lookout for a Commercial Business Partner who brings sharp commercial thinking, hands-on experience, and a practical approach to improving business outcomes and boosting profitability.

This is a highly engaged, outward-facing role where your ability to get deals over the line, negotiate with suppliers, and deliver commercial value will be just as important as your financial expertise. You’ll work closely with decision-makers across our network to uncover efficiencies, support procurement and contract discussions, and help steer the financial direction of our transport operations.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Work directly with operational and depot managers across Melbourne to provide commercial support that strengthens performance and fosters growth.
  • Oversee procurement discussions and supplier relationships, support customer contracts, and roll out commercial initiatives that drive results.
  • Spend time on the ground – from truck scheduling to depot workflows – and use what you learn to give practical, data-driven, business-savvy advice.
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, and month-end activity with accuracy and insight, keeping things aligned with broader goals.
  • Take ownership of the financial components of key projects – from cost-efficiency improvements to new technology implementations.
  • Work with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver clear reporting and uncover key business insights that support informed decisions.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A strong background in logistics, transport, or similar operational environments – you understand how truck networks and depots run day to day.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers, managing financials, and playing a role in commercial decisions – you know how to turn ideas into action.
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with everyone from depot teams to senior decision-makers.
  • A sharp eye for business trends, issues, and opportunities – you know how to spot what matters and act on it.

Why Cleanaway?
You’ll be part of a business that’s committed to sustainability and doing things the right way. We’ll support you with the tools and training you need, and you’ll be surrounded by a team that values growth, collaboration, and celebrating success.

What's in It for You:

  • Competitive salary with an attractive incentive scheme to reward your performance.
  • Autonomy and flexibility in your role, allowing you to work independently and make a tangible impact.
  • Opportunity to join a dynamic, growing Australian company and collaborate with a driven team.
