The Opportunity
We’re on the lookout for a proactive and organised Operations Coordinator to join our team based in Dandenong South. This is your opportunity to be part of a high-performing branch within a national leader in hazardous waste management and resource recovery. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, this key role supports the day-to-day branch operations, coordinating logistics and service schedules, and continues to deliver safe and efficient outcomes.
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, with a strong possibility of extension or transition to a permanent role. The position supports a key operational project, and as the project evolves, we expect to gain greater clarity on the role’s long-term continuity.
Key accountabilities
- Coordinate transport and disposal schedules for hazardous waste collections.
- Liaise with drivers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely, compliant job execution.
- Process and reconcile waste tracking documents, manifests, and delivery dockets.
- Maintain accurate service records, inventory data, and job completion logs in JDE.
- Support incident reporting, toolbox talks, and environmental compliance processes (HS&E).
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to drive safety and operational performance.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Operations Supervisor and wider site team.
About you
You will have a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, and pride yourself on delivering value to customers. Operating in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, you will bring the following skills to the position:
- A strong safety-first mindset and commitment to environmental compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in an operations, waste, or logistics environments.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple moving parts.
- Solid communication skills and confidence engaging with frontline operators and contractors.
- Familiarity with JDE or other ERP/transport systems is highly regarded.
