Operations Supervisor – Supporting the Containers for Change scheme

Location: Morningside QLD

We’re on the lookout for an energetic and motivated Operations Supervisor to join our Containers for Change team at our 24/7 Morningside branch. You'll work alongside two other Supervisors and report directly to the Branch Manager, playing a vital role in keeping our logistics and processing operations running safely and smoothly.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same – you’ll be planning, coordinating, supporting the team, and solving problems to help us deliver safe, efficient, and reliable service.

This position works a Wednesday to Sunday roster, so we're looking for someone who’s happy with a weekend-based schedule.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Overseeing the daily logistics schedule – driver runs, shift planning, and weekly rosters
  • Running driver debriefs, safety reporting, and incident management
  • Hosting toolbox talks and encouraging a strong “Safety First” approach
  • Working closely with managers to set and deliver on operational targets
  • Promoting a high level of customer service and resolving any service issues
  • Reviewing and improving processes to increase efficiency and performance
  • Preparing detailed reports on labour, costs, and service outcomes
  • Managing performance discussions and handling investigations when required
  • Supporting our “Home Safe” culture through time-in-field assessments and reviewing safety documentation

About you

You're someone who enjoys being in the thick of it, keeping things moving, helping others succeed, and staying calm when things get hectic. You’re organised, solutions-focused, and not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. Whether it’s juggling rosters, solving last-minute issues, or stepping in to support the team, you’re dependable, approachable, and driven by a strong sense of accountability. Most importantly, you value safety, service, and teamwork, and you're ready to make a real impact.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience managing sizeable teams in a fast-paced blue-collar environment.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and a knack for bringing people together
  • Experience in logistics, operations, or transport
  • Strong communication skills – you're comfortable working with people at all levels, from drivers to senior managers
  • A continuous improvement mindset – you're always looking for smarter, safer, and more efficient ways to work
  • A strong focus on safety, with sound knowledge of HSE systems and practices
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
