The Opportunity
Our Environment Team is searching for an Environment Business Partner to join its Victorian team, based in Dandenong but servicing our sites across all of Victoria.
You will partner with Cleanaway’s diverse Victorian business operations to provide environmental technical and compliance support. In this role, you’ll support the implementation and local environmental program of works and risk management strategies. By partnering closely with operational teams, you will take the lead on specific site-based environmental initiatives and drive improvements. Additionally, you will be responsible for:
- Continuous improvement initiatives to minimise the impact on air, water, and land and ensure our environmental obligations are met
- Supporting the business with assurance activities including third party audits
- Working with key stakeholders to develop and implement intervention initiatives
- Assisting with the development of environmental regulatory applications, approvals, and annual returns
- Supporting investigation of environmental incidents
- Analysis of data and information to inform performance improvement
You will be supported by a very experienced team in Victoria, as well as your interstate counterparts.
About You
You are detail-oriented and a capable communicator who thrives in collaborative environments across operations and corporate teams.
- A Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or equivalent, coupled with a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role.
- A keen learner who likes working in a supportive team to progress environmental initiatives and programs
- A working knowledge of Victorian environmental legislation is highly desirable
- Strong spoken and written communication, report-writing, and data analysis skills
- Desire, and ideally experience, working with diverse stakeholders in an industrial setting
- Experience in resource recovery, reuse and waste management will be highly advantageous
- Experience handling competing priorities and strong time management skills
