Senior Resource Recovery Specialist

The Opportunity

Join Cleanaway and help our clients achieve their sustainability goals through innovative, end-to-end waste solutions. Based at our client site in St Leonards office, this national role is responsible for driving Total Waste Management (TWM) outcomes across a major Health client account.

With healthcare waste as the predominant stream, you’ll also work closely with other Cleanaway divisions to assess and implement integrated solutions across general, hazardous, and recyclable waste. You’ll travel regularly to key client sites across WA, VIC, and QLD, partnering with stakeholders to improve landfill diversion, boost resource recovery, and expand Cleanaway’s service offering and share of wallet.

You’ll lead initiatives such as waste audits, site assessments, and sustainability reviews while delivering waste education and reporting on performance metrics that matter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored Total Waste Management strategies that align with client needs and sustainability targets

  • Conduct site assessments and waste audits to uncover opportunities for resource recovery

  • Collaborate with internal divisions to introduce broader Cleanaway service offerings across all waste streams

  • Provide ongoing client education and training around best-practice waste management

  • Monitor and report on waste performance data, identifying trends and cost-saving opportunities

  • Ensure service consistency and compliance across all client sites nationally

About You

  • Tertiary qualified in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related discipline

  • Strong knowledge of waste and recycling operations, particularly healthcare waste will be favorable

  • Experience in auditing, waste stream analysis, or sustainability consulting is highly desirable

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external

  • Confident working independently across multiple locations with strong organisational and planning skills

  • Comfortable navigating client environments and contributing to strategic account growth

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly interstate
