The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Health & Safety Business Partner, you will oversee the health, safety, and process safety while working closely with frontline teams and leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety culture and systems. You’ll lead the charge in risk assessments, system improvements, investigations, and safety training, with a strong focus on high-risk areas like machine guarding and confined space.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assist sites with hazard identification and risk assessment activities.
  • Develop and deliver training packages, toolbox talks, and training plans tailored to operational risk.
  • Maintenance of current risk registers and development and assessment of effective risk controls.
  • Conduct ICAM investigations and incident reporting to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with key HSE team members and stakeholders to effectively partner to deliver key changes or requirements.
  • Embed a strong safety culture across site operations through the application of HSE Behaviours and the establishment of a learning culture.

About You

  • Cert IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety (WHS).
  • Proven experience in heavy industry or operational settings with high-risk plant and mobile equipment.
  • Ability to influence and drive change through H&S initiatives and programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in machine guarding and risk control of moving machinery.
  • Skilled in developing and delivering engaging safety training and toolbox talks.
  • Solid understanding of permit-to-work systems, especially in confined space scenarios.
