The Opportunity 

Based in St Marys NSW, we are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to coordinate and oversee quality control activities within our ASP HealthCare division. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all tasks are completed safely and meet or exceed customer contractual requirements, particularly in relation to the supply and management of sharps disposal systems in compliance with Australian health and safety regulations. 

The role is responsible for ensuring all quality control processes, inspections, and post-inspection reporting are completed as required. 

  • Check raw materials (resins, colorants, additives) for compliance with specifications 
  • Verify supplier documentation such as Certificates of Analysis (COA) 
  • Inspect parts during production to ensure they meet dimensional, visual, and functional requirements. 
  • Monitor for defects such as flash, short shots, sink marks, warping, etc 
  • Use quality control tools like first-off checks, in-process sampling, and control plans 
  • Conduct final checks before packaging/shipping 
  • Ensure labelling, packaging, and part count accuracy 
  • Approve or reject finished goods based on inspection results 
  • Record inspection results in inspection logs or quality systems 
  • Generate NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) for defective products 
  • Communicate issues to production, quality officers and Quality Manager 
  • Generate standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 
  •  Ensure compliance with ISO standards or customer-specific quality systems (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001) 

About You 

  • Demonstrated experience working in quality control/ inspector within manufacturing/production industry - preferable plastics 
  • Experience in working in a production team environment efficiently and safely  
  • Highly organised and excellent attention to detail 
  • Understanding of manufacturing/production processes  
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practice quality control  
  • Demonstrated knowledge of audit processes and QMS control  
  • Good understanding of ISO 9001 · Knowledge of AS 23907 or AS 4031 standards will be highly regarded
