Communications Business Partner - 12 month contract

The Opportunity

Cleanaway is undergoing a major digital transformation program that will reshape how we engage with our customers and deliver services. As Communications Business Partner, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting this change, ensuring our people are informed, engaged and empowered throughout the journey. Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, you’ll work closely with the change management team, becoming their trusted communications advisor. You’ll gain deep insight into our operations and help craft compelling, audience-specific messaging that drives understanding and adoption of new digital tools and processes. Please note, this is a 12-month fixed term contract. Full-time preferred, but 4-day week will be considered.

In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Develop and deliver strategic communications that support the rollout of new digital platforms and ways of working
  • Spend time onsite to understand our operations firsthand and build strong relationships with senior and operational leaders to ensure messaging is relevant and impactful
  • Edit and proofread content for clarity, consistency and alignment with tone, style and brand messaging, providing recommendations for improvement
  • Guide communication planning and execution, ensuring alignment with transformation goals

 About You

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring a strong mix of strategic thinking, creativity and stakeholder engagement. You’ll be passionate about making complex change clear and meaningful for diverse audiences, especially those on the frontline.

You will have:

  • 6+ years’ experience and relevant qualifications in communications, corporate affairs, marketing or a related field
  • Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to translate complex digital transformation concepts into clear, engaging content
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities, building trusted relationships from operational teams to executive leaders
  • Proven experience in internal communications and employee engagement, ideally within large, dispersed or frontline workforces
  • collaborative mindset, thriving in fast-paced environments and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful outcomes
  • commitment to quality and timeliness, understanding that progress and adaptability are key in transformation settings
