The Opportunity
We are looking for an Operations Supervisor to oversee the day‑to‑day running of the new Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) at Maryborough. Leading a team of up to approximately 20 staff across two sites, you’ll ensure operations are safe, efficient, and delivering a high‑quality service to our customers.
This role is hands-on and dynamic, requiring someone who can manage people, optimise processes, and keep operations running smoothly across multiple sites.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Lead and develop the team to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant operations across two facilities.
- Develop and monitor equipment and machine processes to reduce downtime and increase throughput efficiency.
- Oversee logistics and workflow management, ensuring efficient stock control.
- Maintain accurate records and provide clear reporting on production metrics including performance and downtime.
- Ensure consistent product quality of commodities produced and oversee regular audits.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture, identifying and implementing operational enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate records and reports.
About You
- Proven experience in an operations or supervisory role, ideally within a processing, manufacturing or waste management environment is desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to resolving operational challenges.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance, with experience conducting safety briefings and managing incident reports.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage with team members and handle customer inquiries professionally.
