The Opportunity
Operating from our Perry Rd location in Dandenong, you will be centrally located to allow engagement with multiple sites around Melbourne. The Fleet Manager - Yellow Gear is responsible for the management of a small team and the implementation of daily maintenance schedules that maximise safety and availability of equipment, completion of corrective work in a safe and efficient manner, response to equipment breakdowns to ensuring maximum equipment availability and compliance with regulations. The role will work with the Fleet & Equipment Manager to analyse fleet performance to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure the fleet of light vehicles and earth-moving equipment is safe and compliant through appropriate maintenance scheduling and timely repairs when required
- Ensure branches have sufficient fleet resources to service their customers’ requirements
- Keep abreast of industry trends and legislated changes that impact Fleet, make recommendations, and communicate/educate Fleet users on implications
About You
Our ideal candidate will have significant fleet management and maintenance experience with sound knowledge of logistics and maintenance systems, strong fleet and related body builder relationships, and contacts within the transport/ waste management industry.
- Vehicle design and manufacturing knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Influencing skills as well as the ability to manage expectations
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience in the use of JDE - E1 and P&E modules
- Ability to analyse and make recommendations from complex and diverse data sources
- Intermediate experience using the Microsoft Office suite
- Highly regarded: Tertiary qualification in engineering/maintenance/logistics/business
- OEM earthmoving dealer experience highly regarded
- Maintenance Scheduling and Planning
- Mechanical background / trade highly regarded
