The Opportunity:

We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Fleet Manager – Earthmoving Equipment to join our high-performing team in Dandenong. Safety sits at the heart of everything we do, and this role plays a key part in ensuring our fleet of earthmoving equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

You’ll lead a small, capable team and set the standard for safe fleet operations, from proactive maintenance and equipment inspections to ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company safety requirements. Working closely with the Fleet & Equipment Manager, you’ll analyse performance data, manage maintenance programs, and drive continuous improvement to keep our people and equipment operating at their best and safest.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a small team to ensure safe and effective fleet operations.
• Oversee maintenance scheduling, ensuring all earthmoving equipment and vehicles are safe, compliant, and operational.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure branches have sufficient fleet resources.
• Monitor and analyse fleet performance to improve efficiency and control costs.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting fleet operations.

About You:

You’re an energetic and capable leader with solid management experience and a strong background in earthmoving equipment or heavy vehicle maintenance. You enjoy being across the detail, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and know how to get the best from your team while keeping safety front of mind.

Required Experience:

• Proven experience managing people in a fleet, maintenance, or equipment environment.
• Strong knowledge of earthmoving equipment and maintenance planning.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to analyse data and make sound operational decisions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Ideal Experience:

• A mechanical trade background or technical understanding of heavy equipment.
• Experience using systems such as JDE – E1 and P&E modules.
• OEM or dealer experience in the earthmoving industry.
• Relevant qualifications in maintenance, engineering, logistics, or business.
