The Opportunity
This is a high-impact role requiring collaboration with the Executive and leadership teams across the group to plan and allocate capital over the short, medium, and long term while continuously improving processes and frameworks to support best-in-class investment decision-making. Key Responsibilities;
Strategic Capital Allocation & Portfolio Management
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s Capital Allocation Strategy, processes, and governance framework.
- Optimise the mix of projects and asset returns within the investment portfolio.
- Provide analysis and recommendations on best-in-class capital allocation practices.
Financial Planning & Reporting
- Lead the capital budgeting and forecasting process across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons.
- Own and maintain the company’s capital allocation framework and associated reporting cadence.
- Develop tools and processes to deliver accurate and transparent reporting, including monthly CAPEX Forums.
- Build and maintain financial modelling templates for capital investments and ensure accuracy of investment return calculations.
- Develop and maintain methodologies to measure Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) across Strategic Business Units and projects.
Systems & Governance
- Own the company’s capital allocation workflow tools and systems.
- Continuously review, improve, and implement best-practice processes to enhance capital allocation decision-making.
About You
You are a commercially minded, results-driven finance leader with proven experience managing complex asset portfolios and influencing investment strategies at an enterprise level. You thrive in dynamic environments and bring a balance of strategic vision, analytical strength, and stakeholder engagement skills. What you'll bring;
- 10–15 years’ experience in capital allocation, portfolio analysis, investment management or like skills.
- Proven track record managing large, complex asset portfolios within an ASX-listed organisation.
- Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills.
- Strong analytical capability and experience in driving process improvements.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Actuarial Studies, Accounting, or equivalent (postgraduate qualifications highly regarded).
