The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Officer to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate maintenance, entry, and timely processing of supplier invoices in line with company policies, while supporting the smooth and efficient operation of our finance function. Key responsibilities will include:
- Accurately and efficiently set up supplier accounts, ensuring all required information is captured.
- Ensure compliance with company credit systems, policies, and processes.
- Match purchase orders with supplier invoices, process them, and ensure timely payment upon final authorisation.
- Reconcile creditors’ statements monthly, investigate outstanding invoices or credit balances, and finalise reconciliations by month end.
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs as required.
- BAS reconciliation.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ad hoc duties as required.
Accounts Receivable
- Generate and issue customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies or payment queries.
- Provide regular reporting on debtor balances and ageing
About You:
- Previous experience in a high-volume accounts payable/receivable role.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical accuracy.
- Strong customer service focus and ability to build positive working relationships.
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Good written communication skills, including the ability to prepare simple correspondence.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
- SAP/Navision experience preferrable but not required
- Professional telephone manner with the ability to remain calm and courteous in all situations.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
