The Opportunity
The Payroll Officer is responsible for ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time, in accordance with relevant industrial instruments, legislation, and employment contracts. This role also provides advice and support to managers, supervisors, and administrators on payroll-related matters and costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with industrial instruments and payroll legislation.
- Calculating and processing statutory compliance including payroll tax, workers compensation, PAYG, superannuation
- Provide expert advice and support to leaders and administrators on payroll queries and cost allocations.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee-related personal information.
- Continually review payroll processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Demonstrate an understanding of how daily payroll decisions contribute to the organisation’s financial performance.
About You
- Proven experience in a multi-site, multi-agreement payroll environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial instruments and the ability to interpret awards and agreements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Payroll systems knowledge Preceda and Kronos highly desirable.
