The Opportunity
In this dynamic role, you’ll lead a diverse team of around 50 operations and admin professionals, driving safety, efficiency, and service excellence across all branch activities. You’ll take ownership of daily operations, ensuring customer expectations are met while achieving key performance and growth targets. Your leadership will shape a positive, high-performing culture that delivers results and keeps our branch running at its best.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the branch, which involves multi-site operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with National Heavy Vehicle Law.
- Oversee staff and the branch's fleet operations, ensuring vehicles are maintained and compliant with regulations.
- Coach and mentor the team, ensuring they are equipped to meet operational KPI and safety standards.
- Champion safety initiatives, investigate incidents, and build a safety-first culture within the team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage the branch’s profit and loss (P&L), focusing on cost control, financial performance, and operational results.
- Working with support functions, fleet, environment and safety to ensure safe and efficient running of the sites.
About you:
- Strong proven experience managing complex, multi-site operations
- Solid prior experience in managing operational teams within the waste, logistics, commercial or Government industry is desirable.
- Understanding of fleet management and vehicle maintenance, with the ability to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Skilled in overseeing complex multi-site branch operations and ensuring all activities align with safety and compliance requirements.
- Previous experience managing a P&L, driving financial performance while overseeing operational costs and maintenance.
- Excellent ability to engage with staff, contractors, and senior management, fostering a collaborative and effective working environment.
- Occasional travel between satellite sites is to be expected.
