The Opportunity
We’re looking for a people-focused leader to join our Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) team in Ballarat.
In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, leading a small team, and coordinating truck maintenance schedules to ensure smooth, efficient service delivery.
While experience in operations or waste is an advantage, we’re most interested in someone with strong people skills, good computer literacy, and the ability to learn new systems and processes.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Lead, motivate and support the CDS team to deliver safe and efficient operations
- Foster a positive, safety-first culture aligned with Cleanaway values
- Schedule and coordinate truck maintenance and servicing
- Navigate and manage operational systems and reporting programs
- Monitor workflows and assist with daily scheduling and team coordination
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
About You
- Committed to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills – you enjoy developing and supporting people
- Computer literate with confidence using operational systems and software
- Ability to learn new programs and processes quickly
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable in a dynamic, hands-on environment
- Understanding of basic maintenance scheduling or equipment programs (advantageous)
