Operations Manager

We’re looking for a hands-on Operations Manager who’s ready to take the next step in their career, leading a small, dedicated team and keeping things running safely, efficiently, and smartly.

What you’ll do

  • Lead, motivate and support a small team of operators, admin staff, and a supervisor.
  • Drive operational excellence through safe, efficient, and innovative practices.
  • Manage day-to-day recycling production processes across multiple streams,.
  • Develop and implement strategies that enhance productivity, streamline processes, and achieve KPIs.
  • Monitor and analyse operational performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to achieve strong business outcomes.
  • Resolve operational issues quickly, keeping your team and customers informed.

About you

You’re an experienced and adaptable leader who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. You know how to get the best out of people and lead with a mix of accountability, empathy, and humour.

  • Proven experience leading, developing, and supporting teams to deliver strong results.
  • A genuine safety-first mindset, you lead by example and walk the talk.
  • Strong business acumen, with confidence in managing budgets, performance, and productivity.
  • Background in processing, manufacturing, or production; waste industry experience is a bonus, but not essential.
  • Analytical and process-driven, with the ability to use data and systems to drive improvement.
  • Creative, flexible, and agile, you adapt easily, think on your feet, and find smart solutions.
  • A strong communicator who builds trust easily, holds people accountable, and keeps morale high.
  • Known for being resilient, approachable, and easy to deal with.
  • Current driver’s licence and solid computer skills (MS Office suite).
