The Opportunity
We’re looking for a people-focused leader to join our resource recovery facility in Coolaroo.
In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, leading a small team, ensuring effective and efficient operations while maintaining a strong safety culture.
While experience in operations or waste is an advantage, we’re most interested in someone with strong people skills, good computer literacy, and the ability to learn new systems and processes.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Lead, motivate and support the team to deliver safe and efficient operations
- Foster a positive, safety-first culture aligned with Cleanaway values
- Control plant production, coordinate inwards and outward transport
- Monitor and control product quality
- Planning and scheduling of plant workloads
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
About You
You are a motivated, approachable leader with a can-do attitude who thrives in a team environment. You’ll be a trusted go-to person for your team and ready to handle the tricky conversations when needed.
- Experience in a supervisory role, ideally within waste, logistics, or fixed plant operations
- Strong people leadership skills, including supporting your team and having difficult conversations
- Solid understanding of HSE and environmental legislation, and a familiarity with safety management systems, compliance, and fatigue management
- Intermediate skills in Excel and Word
- Exposure to P&L/branch financials is a plus
- Resilient, confident, and comfortable in challenging situations
- Organised and able to implement your own systems to keep operations on track
