About Us

Join us at Cleanaway and contribute to making a sustainable future possible, together.

We transform waste into resources and renewable energy.  When you start to think of waste as a resource, it opens a world of possibilities.

As a high growth, ASX listed organisation with over 10,000 employees, our goal is to be recognised by our customers as the most innovative and sustainable waste management company with industry leading Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) performance.  We are Australia’s largest company in this sector, providing essential services to millions of customers and communities nationally.

Lead the Way in Turning Waste into Opportunity

Are you passionate about creating inclusive employment opportunities and strengthening belonging? At Cleanaway, we don’t just manage waste — we transform it into something valuable. Now, we’re looking for a Senior Employment Pathways Lead to help us design and deliver programs that open doors for underrepresented groups and build sustainable careers across Australia.

About the Role

As the Senior Employment Pathways Lead, you’ll lead a national function, focused on creating equitable employment pathways and meaningful partnerships. You’ll manage a small, dedicated team and work across Cleanaway’s operational and corporate areas to design, implement, and enhance programs that attract, support, and retain diverse talent — including women in operations, First Nations employees and other underrepresented groups. You’ll also represent Cleanaway externally, participating in job fairs, expos and establishing relationships with key partners to support our workforce strategy.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and coach a team of Employment Pathways professionals to deliver national programs aligned with Cleanaway’s workforce strategy.

  • Design and deliver inclusive Employment Pathways for targeted cohorts, ensuring programs are effective, sustainable, and create long-term opportunities (this includes graduates, interns, driver academies and apprentices).

  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, including promotion of Employment Pathways programs and participation in external events and meetings.

  • Drive operational and commercial outcomes by leveraging government funding and ensuring compliance and reporting requirements are met.

  • Support the implementation of Cleanaway’s First Nations Employment Strategy.

  • Champion respect and inclusion by embedding cultural awareness and inclusion across recruitment and development initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience leading workforce development, employment pathways, recruitment or social impact programs.

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across all levels.

  • Knowledge and experience working with First Nations organisations and communities will be highly regarded.

  • Experience in developing and facilitating Graduate, Intern and early career programs.

  • Financial and operational acumen, including managing budgets and reporting obligations.

  • Experience partnering with RTOs, employment services, and government agencies.

  • A commitment to inclusion, respect, and creating real opportunities for people to thrive.

Why Join Us

At Cleanaway, we’re driven by purpose — to make a sustainable future possible together.
