The Opportunity

As our Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the maintenance and day-to-day operations of a fleet of 70 trucks at our Northgate site. In this hands-on role, you will lead workshop staff, coordinate repairs and maintenance, and work closely with third-party contractors to maintain fleet efficiency.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Oversee workshop operations at our Northgate site, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements
  • Manage staff and coordinate activities across the workshop, ensuring operational requirements are met efficiently
  • Monitor day-to-day operations, including work orders, spare parts ordering, and raising purchase orders
  • Facilitate training and development of workshop staff
  • Support depot operations and liaise with third-party vendors to ensure timely fleet repairs and maintenance
  • Maintain budgetary controls and ensure resources are used effectively
  • Collaborate with site operations and cross-functional teams to meet operational goals

About You

  • Proven experience supervising workshop operations and managing fleet maintenance teams within the waste or transport industry is desirable
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to listen, influence, and build rapport
  • A solutions-driven mindset with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively
  • Strong knowledge of NHVR requirements and compliance standards
  • A mechanical or electrical trade background (highly desirable)
  • An HR licence is essential
