The Opportunity
Based in Rockingham, WA, the Operations Manager is accountable for achieving targets for operating efficiencies, productivity, equipment utilisation and maintenance while ensuring that costs are controlled within budget and delivering required customer service levels.
- Identification and implementation of operational efficiencies to achieve exemplary customer service practices and meet contractual obligations within financial and operational targets
- Work with customers and the Sales team to maximise revenue growth opportunities (organic and new business)
- Provide estimates and preliminary quotes for customers in accordance with delegation/approval policy, where required
- Ensure operational and administrative processes are conducted (e.g., equipment checks; completion of payroll records; safety activities; site housekeeping)
- Ensure site equipment is purchased, maintained and operated appropriately in accordance with requirements, and identify additional equipment needs to provide effective service delivery
- Investigate, report and manage incidents/accidents, property damage and personal injury
- Report all cost centre activities in line with the required reporting schedules
- Contribute to revenue and EBITDA growth through strong customer and sales team relationships and effective financial controls
About You
Our ideal candidate will bring exceptional leadership skills, a track record of safety leadership and performance, and experience in managing operational departments in an Industrial Waste Services or a related heavy-industry environment.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, and influencing skills – ability to manage expectations
- A fundamental knowledge of heavy industrial vacuum units, specifically King Vac, Spout Vac and Combination units
- Proven experience in managing a large team of Operators (60+), inclusive of Supervisors.
- Team coaching, performance monitoring, Toolbox meetings, and ensuring Operators are up to date with mandatory training
- Full understanding of safety requirements within the Industrial Waste Industry
- Proven experience in managing a Tier 1 client contract
- Minimum HR Licence
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Infield Verification of Competency and Cert IV in Training & Assessing is highly advantageous
