We transform waste into resources and renewable energy.  When you start to think of waste as a resource, it opens a world of possibilities.

As a high growth, ASX listed organisation with over 10,000 employees, our goal is to be recognised by our customers as the most innovative and sustainable waste management company with industry leading HSE performance.  We are Australia’s largest company in this sector, providing essential services to millions of customers and communities nationally.

The Opportunity

Based in Dandenong, the Driver Trainer & Assessor ensures all new and existing employees and labour hire workers are compliant with the defined driver training as per the Cleanaway Training Framework. You will develop and deliver the local training schedule, supported by qualified and nominated Branch Instructors.

  • Contribute to maintaining current and standardised training by staying abreast of national and local regulations and broader industry trends.
  • Ensure that all relevant training documentation is completed and stored as per company policy.
  • Provide set reporting based on training and Verification of Competency completion on a monthly basis.
  • Train new and existing drivers in the use of the relevant vehicle and equipment in line with the set VoC protocol and set standards of safe driving.
  • Train operational employees in mandatory health & safety training for their role as per the Training Framework.

About you

You’ll ideally come from a transport or waste management background and have experience delivering driver training, supported by a Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122). This role involves travel across the state, so you’ll be comfortable planning your schedule independently. An HR licence is essential, and an HC or MC licence will be highly regarded.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven industry driving experience across a range of vehicles, supported by a clean driving record
  • Experience delivering training and adult learning to a blue‑collar workforce
  • Capability to deliver Verification of Competency (VOC) training and assessments to required standards
  • Confidence delivering classroom‑based training

What’s in it for you:

  • A close-knit team – Join a supportive crew backed by a broader network of experienced colleagues who are always ready to lend a hand.
  • Make a real impact – Be part of a team that contributes meaningfully to your local community.
  • Competitive salary package – Enjoy a generous and rewarding remuneration.
  • Join a high-growth, ASX 100-listed business – Be part of a company with big goals and the momentum to match.
  • Employee share program – Share in the success you help create.
  • Great staff benefits – Including novated leasing, salary sacrificing on work-related expenses, discounted private health insurance, and more.
  • Ongoing training – We’ll support your continued learning every step of the way.

Our Process:

Our recruitment process involves a number of checks including, but not limited to, criminal history, medicals, drug & alcohol testing, as well as verification of qualifications, licences and right-to-work status.

  • We are dedicated to improving employment outcomes and encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We also welcome candidates of all ages, abilities, gender identities, experiences (including veterans), and cultural backgrounds.
