The Opportunity

Based on Barrow Island, off the NW Pilbara coast on a 2:2 FIFO roster from Perth, the Operations Supervisor is accountable for the supervision of Waste Driver / Operators, daily task allocations and work activities, including maintaining vehicle fleet documentation, client and other contractor liaison, and prioritising work efforts. This is a higher tempo environment, but with much autonomy and scope for initiative and the use of an effective leadership style.

Associated tasks include:

  • Working collaboratively with the Branch Manager on Health & Safety and facilitating positive morale
  • Maximise customer service and operational efficiencies through effective supervision
  • Investigate and report customer complaints to line management in accordance with requirements
  • Ensure employees complete pre-start checks and post-run checks
  • Act on equipment maintenance and servicing issues as scheduled, or as a result of pre-start and/or post-run checks, and order parts and PPE, as required

About You

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced supervisor, confident in tasking others and overseeing personnel in a positive and supportive style, ideally within the Energy & Resources or Waste Management sectors, with exceptional interpersonal skills. Proven leadership is the key element, as waste knowledge will be provided to the successful applicant if not from a waste background.

  • An HR Licence is mandatory
  • Computer user confidence and IT literacy
  • A Dangerous Goods By Sea course is beneficial, but can be provided to the successful applicant
