The Opportunity

Based in Malaga, WA, the Key Account Manager – Business Development is responsible for achieving individual sales budgets, targets, and KPIs by delivering best‑in‑class new business development to prospective Cleanaway customers. This role plays a critical part in driving profitable growth, operating in alignment with Cleanaway’s Sales Growth Strategy and delivering tailored waste management solutions to mid‑market customers.

The KAM must execute 2 pillars of our Cleanaway Sales Strategy, ‘Grow’ & ‘Retain’ by achieving profitable revenue growth through maximising contract terms & prices and optimising share of wallet growth by providing customers with Total Waste Management solutions. (Mid-market $100K – $1m annual spend)

  • Develop strategic relationships with customers and industry participants and proactively source share of wallet opportunities for Cleanaway’s suite of services
  • Keep abreast of competitor activity and maintain an up-to-date database of relevant information in Salesforce
  • Ensure all reporting is submitted as required, including opportunity pipeline, competitor activity, and market intelligence
  • Maintain Sales Pipeline to retain & grow customer portfolio value as set through Tender responses & quotes
  • Ensure price increases and contract terms and conditions are applied as contracted

About You

You bring a strong track record of success in a commercial or industrial B2B sales environment, supported by demonstrated negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills. You thrive on identifying and converting new opportunities and enjoy working in dynamic, fast‑paced markets.

  • Proven experience in driving organic new business growth
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management capability within large and complex environments
  • Ability to identify, qualify, and strategically pursue growth opportunities
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills, including the preparation and presentation of tender responses
  • Sound commercial acumen with experience leveraging volume and pricing to deliver profitable outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders across both internal and external groups
