The Opportunity

• Repair, maintain and construct steel components for the fixed plant, equipment and other structures including a fleet of trucks
• Construct pressure vessels, tanks, storage bins, large pipework, etc
• Set up and operate hand tools, including but not limited to flame-cutting torches, drills, grinders, clamps
• Undertake tasks involving specialist measuring equipment and hand tools
• Maintain, clean, repair & and paint waste containers and equipment
• Joining metal sections together by welding, bolting and riveting
• Examines welds for width of bead, penetration and precision, and performs necessary repairs or reworks
• Studies blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine fabrication job requirements
• Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as necessary
• The opportunity to program machinery or computer-aided fabrication tools to optimise the metal fabrication process
• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used
• Work in collaboration with contractors and other trade professionals where required

About you

• Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade
• Minimum current driver's licence class C
• Forklift licence
• Rigging ticket
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Commitment to safety and following established procedures
• Willing to take a Pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol test
