The Opportunity
We are seeking a practical, operations-focused Site Engineer to support daily landfill activities at two NSW Landfills.

The role provides direct engineering input into weekly fill planning, field execution, and performance tracking, with a strong emphasis on supporting operations rather than purely analytical or design work.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day‑to‑day engineering activities for landfill operations, providing assistance to site teams as needed
- Assist with the preparation and rollout of the weekly fill plan, including lift progression, filling sequence, and equipment considerations
- Work alongside supervisors to help implement fill plans on site, making adjustments for changing conditions and updating machine GPS files (Carlson/Trimble)
- Carry out regular site inspections to check waste placement, compaction, cover application (including ADC), and general compliance requirements
- Help monitor key operational measures such as waste volumes, airspace use, compaction, and cover usage
- Collect and maintain operational data, using digital tools (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate) to support reporting and record‑keeping
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, productivity, and environmental performance
