The Opportunity

Step into a key leadership role at our Hillsdale depot, overseeing waste collection and resource recovery services for a major council contract. You’ll lead from the front—ensuring safe, efficient operations, strong financial performance, and trusted stakeholder relationships, with a clear focus on sustainability.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Oversee the waste management contract, ensuring all KPIs and service levels are met.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the operations staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. 
  • Work closely with depot supervisor and drivers to maintain efficient daily operations.
  • Champion safety initiatives, investigate incidents, and build a safety-first culture within the team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage contract budgets, monitor costs, and drive efficiency improvements.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance service delivery and sustainability initiatives.

About You

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams to achieve performance goals.  
  • Proven experience in an operations management role within logistics or an industrial environment is desirable. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, focusing on continuous improvement and operational optimization.  
  • Strong safety leadership with a functional knowledge of HSE legislation and safety management systems. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
