The Opportunity

The Regional Engineer is responsible for managing projects and maintaining systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations across a defined region. This dual role is critical to driving operational efficiency, minimising downtime, and supporting strategic business outcomes.

Working closely with Health and Oils and Technical Services teams, you will help ensure waste is processed safely and efficiently while contributing to capital projects and key operational decisions.

We’re hiring for two exciting fixed-term contract roles, available for 6 or 8 months with flexible locations based (Silverwater or Sydney CBD).

 

What you will do

In this role, you’ll own technical performance across operations, applying hands-on expertise to enhance safety, efficiency, and reliability. You’ll translate data and insights into practical actions that drive real business outcomes.

You will play a key role in engineering, maintenance, and project delivery by:

• Partnering with Operations to understand business needs and deliver optimal asset solutions
• Diagnosing and resolving equipment faults to minimise operational disruptions
• Developing asset lifecycle, investment, and risk management strategies
• Monitoring asset performance to ensure reliability, compliance, and integrity
• Delivering projects and maintenance safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards
• Driving sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement across engineering practices
• Managing project and maintenance costs with strong financial accountability

 

About You

You are a technically strong, solutions-focused chemical engineer who thrives in complex, process-driven environments. You bring a proactive mindset, strong safety focus, and the ability to collaborate and influence across teams.

• Proven experience delivering industrial projects and maintenance activities
• Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices
• Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving complex equipment and system issues
• Effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage priorities across multiple projects
• Experience leading contractors and coordinating cross-functional teams
• Relevant chemical engineering qualification, with solid project management capability
• Experience with management of Change (MOC), Pre-Start-Up-Safety-Review (PSSR), HAZOP and HAZID
