The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead waste management operations supporting a major hazard gas facility at Wheatstone on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role sits at the center of a complex, high-risk operational environment, where safety, compliance, and service reliability are critical. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of waste management services for a key client, ensuring all activities align with strict environmental, licensing and regulatory obligations.
Operating from Malaga with hybrid flexibility, you will act as the primary interface between the business and the client, driving performance, governance and continuous improvement. You’ll lead coordination across operational teams, ensuring seamless service execution while maintaining strong oversight of compliance, reporting, and financial outcomes.
Travel to the Wheatstone site is expected once per month to maintain engagement and visibility with on-site operations.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure waste, environmental and license compliance in line with regulatory and site requirements
- Drive governance, audit readiness and reporting standards
- Coordinate operations across logistics, site delivery and service performance
- Manage key client relationships, including regular meetings and performance reviews
- Lead a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to critical risk and hazard protocols
- Oversee financial performance, including P&L management, budgeting and cost control
- Lead and develop operational and administrative teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers to ensure safe, compliant and efficient execution of services.
About you:
- Solid prior experience in managing operational teams within the waste or logistics industry is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to manage client contracts and stakeholder relationships
- Experience leading teams in high-risk or operational environments
- Commercial acumen with exposure to P&L ownership
- Safety-first mindset with experience working within major hazard facilities (highly regarded)
